From today (may 1, 2019) day-trippers have to pay 3 euros to enter Venice. 28 million visitors came last year. This entrance fee will be increased to 10 euros in the coming years.

Venice has 2 airports. The main airport is ‘Marco Polo’. This airport is connected to the centre of Venice by scheduled bus services. Travel time is 20 minutes: fare is €4. ACTV busses drive between 04.07 in the morning and 1.10 at night from Marco Polo Airport to Piazzale Roma.

Easyjet, Ryanair and other budget airlines operate from Treviso Airport. This smaller airport is 25 km from Venice. The ATVO Eurobus is the cheapest transportation. Travel time to the center of Venice is one hour and 10 minutes. Fare is €5. The bus makes a stop at the Mestre train station.
