    review of Plaza Hotel Venice

    30171 Venice

We stayed in the Plaza Hotel in July 2006 for 3 nights. The Plaza Hotel is situated along a road directly opposite the entrance of the Venice-Mestre's train station.(25 metres) With the train it is a 8 minutes journey to Venice St Lucia train station.(1 one-way). Bus number 2 stops in front of the hotel and takes passengers in 12 minutes to Venice.

Our hotel room was large, very clean and standard furnished. We booked also a twin room for our children and this one was smaller. The 'double bed' in our room were 2 twin beds next to each other (1.60 by 2.00) with good mattresses.

The airco was quite and worked very well. It kept the room cold without any problems. During our holiday in Italy we had quite often problems with the airco's. Our bathroom had a good size but the bath was just big enough to sit in.

The hotel has 2 breakfast rooms: a larger one and a small one. We prefered the small breakfast room. The larger one is more for groups.

The internet connection in the hotel is 10/hour which is not cheap. We went therefore to an internet cafe, which was in a street around the corner, 5 minutes away. (2.50/hour). In that street you also find some Chinese shops for cold drinks and food. We paid 85 in August 2006 for one twin room per night.

    Rates september 2010:
If you book in September 2010 directly through the hotel website the rate for a double classic room is 109 including breakfast and 1 train ticket to Venice (3/4 September 2010). Cheapest rates are Booked-In-Advance rates (15days or more) for only 87 including breakfast but non-refundable if you cancel afterwards.
Hotel providers on the internet: and Expedia asked 96, EasytoBook and quoted 119 per night. Most expensive was Octopustravel with 135.
