Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the Northern part of Venice’s historic centre. It’s less crowded than other area’s. Most tourists take the water bus at Santa Lucia station/Santa Maria di Nazareth or they cross the Scalzi Bridge on their way to the city centre.
The main attractions are:
– Santa Lucia train station
– Ca’ d’Oro (Palazzo Santa Sofia): one of the oldest palazzo’s
– Venetian Ghetto: Jewish population lived here
– Ponte delle Guglie: bridge over the Cannaregio Canal)
– Santa Maria di Nazareth: church between Santa Lucia and Scalzi Bridge
– The Wagner Museum
– Venice Casino
– Isola di San Michele (cemetery)
